Deborah Birx’s daughter is not a Gates Foundation employee.
Deborah Birx – Contrary to popular belief, a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation staffer named Laura Birx is not related to Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator beneath President Donald Trump.
“Well look at those ties…,” an Instagram post visible here states. The daughter of Deborah Birx works at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.” It then connects to a Laura Birx LinkedIn page and includes a photograph of Deborah Birx speaking at the White House.
While there is a Gates Foundation employee with this name on LinkedIn (here), the familial connection is false. According to Andrew Estrada, Communications Officer at the Foundation, the social media assertion is untrue.
Deborah Birx’s first marriage produced two adult daughters, Devynn and Danielle Birx-Raybuck (here, here).
