Meet MJ Acosta-Ruiz, an ex-cheerleader depended on NFL commentator who turns out with Joy Taylor and has been anointed ‘fire’ by a pal.

MJ Acosta-Ruiz, like her close friend Joy Taylor, is a trailblazing NFL anchor making waves in the sports media world.

In 2012 and 2013, the Dominican American began her career as a cheerleader for the Miami Dolphins.

She is recently the Emmy Award-winning commentator of NFL Total Access and the NFL Network’s preferably Afro-Latina and Woman of Shade to host a performance.

The Barry University graduate is also completely bilingual in English and Spanish, contributing to NFL Mexico and NFL Espaol across many platforms.

Taylor, a Fox Sports star, and Acosta-Ruiz have become close friends, with the two frequently posting images together on social media.

The two were part of a group of pals who went to Santa Anita Race Track west of Los Angeles, California.
Taylor has also stated that Acosta-Ruiz appeared “fire” in one of her photos.

Her father was a former professional basketball player in the Dominican Republic, therefore sports run in her family.

In the early 2010s, she used her love of dance to become a Dolphins cheerleader while starting a TV journalistic career.
“It was a long-time goal of mine as a dancer to dance at the professional sports level, which for many women is the NBA or NFL,” Acosta-Ruiz said on the New YorkHER podcast.

“So I auditioned for the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders multiple times…

“I’m so glad I bet on myself and gave it another try because I’ll never forget that experience.”

“To this daylight, I maintain it with me so close.”

Acosta-Ruiz then went on to work as a local general reporter for WPLG in Miami and Fort Lauderdale for three years before returning to the NFL landscape at NBC 7 and Telemundo 20 in San Diego, where she concealed the Chargers for three series.
Her big break came in 2018 when the NFL Network recruited her as a Bay Area correspondent for the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers.

As her favor grew, Acosta-Ruiz was anointed the exclusive innholder of NFL Total Access in 2020, the identical year she wedded US Marine David Ruiz and emigrated to Los Angeles.

“I never anticipated [to evolve the innholder of NFL Total Access],” she revealed Sky Sports.
