‘Stranger Things Star Gaten Matarazzo Contains a ‘Serious Anxiety’ of the Show Ending: I’m Failing ‘Job Guarantee’ and It’s ‘About to Freelance’
In a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show,” “Stranger Things” star Gaten Matarazzo said that he lives in “deep fear” of the show’s five-season run on Netflix coming to an end. The 5th and final season of the model will be filmed this year. Matarazzo has been a “Stranger Things” star from the premiere episode, playing Dustin.
To Fallon’s question about if it was “bittersweet” to have to end the program, Matarazzo responded, “Of course it is. There is a certain kind of anticipation because you always want it to end so you can see how these characters will finally mature and complete their travels. But there’s also a profound fear. In addition to being terrific, the job security has been excellent for a time. “Back to freelancing.”
Between “Stranger Things” seasons, Matarazzo has provided voiceovers for films including “The Angry Birds Movie” and “My Father’s Dragon,” and he also starred in last year’s Paramount+ original film “Honour Society.” While for the past nearly 10 years, Matarazzo contains ever owned the extra of returning to the “Stranger Things” fixed. Naturally, that will come to an end after the series ending episode.
When asked what he wanted from the last season of “Stranger Things,” Matarazzo responded, “I’d love to see a good launchpad for growth.” “I’d love to see these characters flourish and get over the trauma they’ve been through the last few years,” the author said.
Co-star David Harbour of “Stranger Things” with Anthony Matarazzo recently made headlines for declaring to Discussing Film that he was prepared to finish the Netflix series.
The funny thing is, when I first started the show, Harbour remarked, he never wanted it to end. “I adore the show because of this. Even though I wasn’t in it, I think the show is fantastic. Nearly nine years have passed since the first season of the show was filmed, and I believe it is time to call it quits.
But it is, of course, quite bittersweet, Harbour continued. There is grief there, you know. But we’ve all matured as well. It’s time for us to get outside of that nest and work on new endeavors. additionally to allow the Duffer Brothers to experiment. They are really skilled, I must say. What they come up with next interests me. It is therefore bittersweet, but the moment has come.
