Pete Davidson – Davidson was born in New York City and grew up on Staten Island with his mother, Amy Waters Davidson, father, Scott Matthew Davidson, and younger sister, Casey Davidson. Scott, a New York City firefighter, perished in the 9/11 terrorist attacks when he was seven years old, an incident that had a profound influence on Davidson.
“I suggest my buddies all the period that if my boyhood was good, I’d presumably be a building employee in Staten Island and be the most comfortable man ever,” the Saturday Night Live veteran remarked in a 2022 episode of Kevin Hart’s Hart to Heart series. “But it’s that strange s— that it does to you that makes me love comedy.”

From tattoo tributes to cinematic endeavours, the comedian has continued to honour and remember his late father. He is extremely close to his mother and lived with her till he purchased his own home in 2021.
Davidson recently spent time with his mother for the premiere of his upcoming series Bupkis, which is inspired by his real life and stars Edie Falcoe as Amy and Joe Pesci as the comedian’s grandfather, in April 2023.

Scott was a New York City firefighter who was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Scott Matthew Davidson joined Ladder Company 118 in 1994, according to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Prior to beginning his career, he received a bachelor’s degree in history from the College of Staten Island, where he also played basketball and served as caption his final year.
Scott died in the line of duty while on duty during the September 11th assaults. Davidson was just 7 years old at the moment. The comic and his home have been candid regarding the significance of failing his daddy at such a youthful age.
His mother, Amy, told the New York Times in 2015 that when his father died, Davidson began acting out in school and, at one point, cut out all of his hair. He resorted to stand-up comedy as an outlet as a teenager.
“He had a difficult period extending up without a daddy — I enjoyed him to be comfortable, and this caused him actually, actually happy,” she described.
As an adult, Davidson lived with Amy.
Following his divorce from Ariana Grande in 2019, Davidson and his mother purchased a property on Staten Island.
“We purchased a home jointly, but nothing believes that,” he commented on The Tonight Show. “I live with my mama, kinda, so I hold a basement that’s like wellspring that’s like an muted, so I live underneath her, so I’m crying like a smallish arcade placed up down there attempting to complete it abundance.”
The comedian gave a tour of his underground flat while promoting his 2020 Netflix show Alive From New York. “I pushed here like a year ago and produced this strange smallish cellar to remain away from f—ing people,” he states in the videotape.
When the tour arrived at his bedroom, he remarked, “This is my bedroom, where nothing happens because I live with my mum.”
Davidson said that he was leaving his mother’s house during an SNL Weekend Update episode in February 2021.
“In some ways, I like the pandemic Valentine’s Day because it’s the first time that being alone wasn’t my fault,” he explained. “I finished the evening with my mum consuming chocolates and observing a movie, which is why I’m officially proceeding out.” “One of us has to depart.”
Davidson and Amy have featured on screen together.
Amy isn’t a professional entertainer like her son, but she’s clearly at ease in front of the camera. In 2019, she appeared with Davidson on Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update for a Mother’s Day episode.

Davidson is well-known for his tattoo collection, which includes several memorials to his father.
The comedian has a kneeling fireman tattoo on his left arm, as well as the firefighter’s prayer and the Roman number nine, which likely commemorates the month his father died. Davidson, joined by his mother, gave a donation in his father’s honor to Answer The Call, an organization that supports the families of New York City’s first responders, during a virtual impression on Jimmy Kimel Live in 2020.
“Answer The Call is the fund that assisted my family after my father died,” the comic told Jimmy Kimmel. “It permits firefighters and EMS workers who passed in the series of position, as pleasingly as their homes.”
They served as inspiration for Davidson’s 2020 film The King of Staten Island.
Davidson released The King of Staten Island, a semi-autobiographical film based on his childhood experiences, in 2020. The comedian plays Scott, a 20-something aspiring tattoo artist living in New York City and dealing with the loss of his fireman father, who died 17 years ago, in the film, directed by Judd Apatow and co-written by Davidson.
“The movie is like my love letter to my mom, and I’m trying to end that part of my life,” Davidson explained to PEOPLE. “I acknowledge we’ve ultimately reached a point where we can allow reach a slim fraction.”
Davidson told the New York Times that he saw the film as a chance to “just really lay it all out there and be able to heal and move on from it, instead of feeling sorry for myself every day.” We can now put things in the past.”
In his new show Bupkis, Edie Falco will play Davidson’s mother.
Bupkis, which will premiere on Peacock in May 2023, is a semi-autobiographical series inspired by Davidson’s real life. He’ll play a fictionalised version of himself, with Edie Falco playing his mother and Joe Pesci as his grandfather.

Amy uploaded a series of Davidson’s childhood photos on social media in honour of his 29th birthday.
In a November 2022 Instagram post, the pleased mother wrote, “Happiest birthday to you Peter!” “We adore you, and you have made us laugh since your birth!” Have a wonderful day!”
Among the images are pictures of Davidson as a child playing the guitar, standing with his sister in front of a Christmas tree, and travelling in a waggon with a friend.
Amy has also publicized other youth pictures on Instagram, including household pictures of her delinquent hubby, Scott.
